For 30 years Sussex School has been integrating community service into its
curriculum, reaching out to the city through an the annual Ecothon
scheduled for April 14*, is an all day event that puts kids to work in the
Missoula community, assisting non profit organizations and public parks and
recreation areas fill their volunteer needs.
All 125 students will be working on a variety of projects throughout
Missoula on April 14. These projects include: trail work at the Milltown
State Park, weed eradication on Mount Sentinel, garden prep at the
Moon-Randolf Homestead and the River Road Community Garden, site work at
the native plant gardens at Fort Missoula, assistance at Free Cycles, and
trash pick up around the city. Sussex School’s* Ecothon service projects
are scheduled for April 14 from 9am-2:30pm.* Kindergarten through Eighth
Grade students, teachers, and their families will work to provide service
to Missoula, all the while earning pledged dollars from sponsors for
