Subject: Lecture This Friday at the Montana Natural History Center Glenn Marangelo provides a special lecture, ‘The Monarch Butterfly: Population Trends, Conservation, & Your Backyard’ for Endangered Species Day this Friday. Learn about these iconic butterflies and how we interact with them in Montana. This illustrated program is as fascinating as it is informative.
The lecture culminates a day-long celebration of endangered species and events at the Montana Natural History Center. Arrive early, at 6:30 p.m., to hear Mayor Engen dedicate a new Monarch Waystation on the north end of the MNHC building.
Populations of the iconic and beloved monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) have dropped an astonishing 96.5 percent over the past few decades and they may receive protection under the Endangered Species Act in the future.
Friday, May 207:00 p.m.Montana Natural History Center, 120 Hickory St.Free
