MISSOULA - Bring your lunch and an open mind!


October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the third week in October has been set aside by YWCA chapters around the world as Week Without Violence, part of a global movement to end violence against women and girls. To participate, YWCA Missoula is hosting a panel discussion that will challenge common myths surrounding domestic violence. Everyone is invited to learn more about this important community issue and how you can take action.

The panel will feature Tanya Campbell, a Senior Advocate at the Crime Victim Advocate (CVA) Program, and Shaunagh McGoldrick, Advocate Coordinator at the Student Advocacy Resource Center (SARC) at the University of Montana. The panel will also include Connie McDonald, who is the Pathways Program Manager at YWCA Missoula, and Patty Murphy, YWCA Missoula's Director of Programs. The panel will discuss misconceptions about domestic violence, including those related to online abuse, homelessness, and the prevalence of intimate partner violence in Montana.

Join us, Tuesday, October 17th, for a discussion about the realities of domestic violence in our community. The lecture will take place noon to 1 pm at the YWCA center room at 1130 W. Broadway St. Community members are welcome to bring their lunch and enjoy the free panel discussion.
