The City of Missoula, in collaboration with its nonprofit partner Home ReSource and its community-based Zero Waste Advisory Committee, will host an Open House on Thursday October 12th as the next step in its waste reduction initiative, ZERO by FIFTY: Missoula's Pathway to Zero Waste.
The open house will debut four "Paths" or focus areas of the forthcoming ZERO by FIFTY plan, along with supporting strategies along each Path.
The Open House is designed to give citizens the opportunity to learn about the ZERO by FIFTY plan framework, engage with City staff to further shape the plan and initiative and provide comment before the final draft is written.
The event is a true Open House and citizens are encouraged to drop in anytime between 5 and 8 p.m. to participate and comment. The plan framework and opportunity to comment can be found online as well at the City of Missoula's ZERO by FIFTY web page at zerobyfiftymissoula.com<http://www.ci.missoula.mt.us/2087/Zero-Waste>. The comment period will be open from October 6th - October 27th. For additional information, contact Chase Jones at 552-6389 or cjones at ci.missoula.mt.us<mailto:cjones at ci.missoula.mt.us> .
