Summer Learning - A Homesteader's Life for Me!

One last hurrah before school starts! Bring the kiddos out to the Fort to learn about the life of the homesteaders who came out west in the last 1800s and early 1900s. Learn to do the chores the kiddos would have to do on the homestead and see if you can figure out how to do laundry the old-fashioned way!

Dates: August 22nd

Time: 3:00pm - 4:30pm
Ages: All Ages
Cost: Free drop-in activity


Tour de Quilts: Fun & Facts about HMFM's Quilt Collection

Have you visited the new Quilt Exhibit at HMFM? Or wanted to? Well here is the perfect opportunity to come tour the Exhibit, enjoy some fun activities, and learn some new things about quilts and quilting!


Dates: August 29th

Time: 11:30am - 1:00pm
Cost: Free drop-in Tour



Fall Tour Guide/Volunteer Meeting


Are you interested in joining our outstanding crew of support? There are many fun ways you can get involved with your Historical Museum! Join us for this informative meeting to find out how to be a field trip tour guide, greeter visitors at the front desk, help with special events, assist in the collections dept, and much more.

Brunch will be provided. Come meet the education docent team and find out if there's an opportunity to volunteer that's right for you! For those interested in staying a little longer, we'll teach you how to press apples with our old-fashioned press.
