Our final Farmer Field Day of 2018 will be at County Rail Farm
<https://countyrailfarm.com/> in Huson, MT. County Rail is a small-scale,
certified organic vegetable farm run day to day by Tracy Potter-Fins with
heavy input from her partner Margaret DeBona on the big picture. At this
Field Day Tracy will talk about their production systems for arugula and
lettuce mix, which they sell at farmers markets and at grocery stores in
Montana, Idaho, and Washington through the Western Montana Growers
Cooperative. Come learn how County Rail uses efficient systems to serve a
wide range of markets a consistent, quality product, while operating at a
small scale. We will see firsthand how they plan for the season, manage
greens succession, handle greens post-harvest, and continue production into
the shoulder season.

More than just a farm tour, Farmer Field Days cover techniques and tips
that will help beginning farmers learn new approaches that they can
implement on their own farms. While geared toward beginning farmers, all
Farmer Field Days are open to the public. Afterward, stick around for a
potluck social and meet more of your local farming community.
