PRESS RELEASE

Lakebottom Sound Series Announces First Show in 2019!

Missoula, MT. Lakebottom Sound Series (LSS) announces the first show in the
2019 spring series to be held on Saturday, March 9 at the Roxy Theater on
the Hip Strip (Higgins Ave.) featuring two groups: Seattle-based Led to Sea and
Missoula’s own Keys & Arrows.

"Led to Sea blew the audience away...You could identify people in the
audience who had not seen her perform before because they were picking
their lower jaws up off their tables. The performance was nothing short of
enigmatic. The layered viola melodies coupled with an incredible voice was
enough to hypnotize me for the duration of her set."
— Bellingham Herald

“It’s an exciting way to kick off 2019,” said Naomi Siegel, founder and
curator of the Lakebottom Sound Series. "Bringing such creative music,
that’s new to Missoula audiences, into one of our iconic listening spaces
on the Hip Strip just can’t please us more.”

Lakebottom Sound Series is committed to presenting shows in intentional
listening environments, providing a positive experience for musicians, and
featuring women, non-binary and trans musicians.

Lakebottom Sound Series presents:

Led to Sea (Seattle)
Keys & Arrows (Missoula)
Saturday, March 9
The Roxy Theater, 718 S Higgins Ave Doors at 7; Music at 730pm

Tickets are $15 in advance, $18 day of the show, and $10 for students.
Tickets are available at lakebottomsound.org and Ear Candy Music.
Led to Sea is a magnetic chamber-pop ensemble led by Seattle-based violist,
violinist, composer and singer Alex Guy that fuses classical, pop and
experimental music. Her solo show has captivated audiences all over the
U.S. and Europe, and draws comparisons to St. Vincent and Andrew Byrd. As a
musician Alex has performed and collaborated with a virtual whose-who of
bandleaders, composers, improvisers and jazz musicians in the Pacific NW
and beyond. Notable collaborators include Sera Cahoone, Jerek Bischoff,
Laura Veirs, Ahamefule Olou, Wayne Horvitz, The Seattle Rock Orchestra,
Mirah, Amanda Palmer, Xiu Xiu, Paranthetical Girls and many more.

Keys & Arrows is the collaboration between keyboardist Kiavash Adibzadeh
and violinist/violist Amelia Riley Thornton. Their instrumental music
features a classic sound with a hint of jazz, new age and a lot of
improvisatory musical storytelling. Their original compositions take
audiences on a voyage through bygone eras with exotic melodies, warm
vibrato, and captivating solos. Keys and Arrows is the newest band on the
Montana music scene and they are proud to call Missoula home.

Upcoming events in the 2019 Series includes:

---Missincinatti (Missoula)
Friday, May 17 at The Roxy Theater (capacity 120) co-presented with KFGM
Ballroom Sessions

Missincinatti, a trio debuting new music crafted around forgotten stories
and songs from Montana’s mining era, will give a two-hour performance and
live interview, filmed by KFGM Ballroom Sessions for web-streaming, radio
play and public archive online.

Missincinatti cultivates songs with roots in the pre-industrial era,
branching forward to an array of contemporary practices. Through lo-fi
sound design, improvisation, and harmonically rich instrumentals,
Missincinatti creates new work from old, in an act of sonic reuse and
repurposing that dims the lights on old melodies, allowing inherent drama
to emerge from the shadows. Missincinatti is Jessica Catron, Jeremy Drake,
Sarah Marker, and Jon Filkins.

and rock. Listen to the first single, 'Your Pillow' from her album, I Am –
