Hello there,
Please see the description below for the next installment of the 2019 Wilderness Lecture Series on Tuesday, February 5 at 7pm in the Gallagher Business Building, Room 123
Begin Description:
How do you define the West? Writer MaryAnn Bonjorni has worked stints as a farmer, commercial fisherman, bartender and ranch hand - both figuratively and literally sweating out any romantic notions she once held about "Western-ness." What's left is a narrative about economic stress, injury and death - but also solace, wild places and beating the odds. Bonjorni talks about her long fascination with the West - and finding the words to define it - in "Finding the Language of Place."
Join us for this free public lecture and discussion on Tuesday, February 5 at 7 p.m. in Gallagher Business Building 123 on the University of Montana campus.
Bonjorni is a professor of art at the University of Montana. Her talk is the third in the Wild Hope: Fearless Risk Takers, Art Markers and Storytellers on Wilderness and Conservation Front Lines lecture series, presented by the Wilderness Institute. The Wilderness Issues Lecture Series continues weekly until March 5.
