Peony and Cut Flower Production

Harts Garden, Missoula, MT

Wednesday, June 19, 4-6pm, potluck to follow

Harts Garden grows a wide variety of flowers and decorative grasses. In past years they have grown over ten thousand stems for several farmers markets, selling locally grown bouquets at Clark Fork River and Polson Farmers’ Markets. At this field day, George Hart will talk about the key production techniques he uses on his flower farm.

The Full Lineup:

More than just a farm tour, Farmer Field Days cover techniques and tips that will help beginning farmers learn new approaches that they can implement on their own farms. While geared toward beginning farmers, all Farmer Field Days are open to the public. Afterward, stick around for a potluck social and meet more of your local farming community.

Can’t make it to the June field day? Check out the lineup for the rest of the summer:

July 17: Weed Management Systems, Mill Crick Farm, Hamilton

August 7: Orchard Management Techniques, Forbidden Fruit Orchard, Paradise

September 18: Reducing On-Farm Carbon Footprint, Lifeline Produce, Victor
