Families Strike for Our Future
Missoula groups organize a day of events for September 20 Global Climate
Strike

On September 20, 2019, the world is set to strike for the climate.

Missoula will join this historic call-to-action with a day full of events,
organized across groups and organizations, to show that Montanans stand for
a livable future.

For families with children, it can be challenging to find a comfortable
space to talk about climate change, and if a family has never joined a
rally before, they may hesitate bringing young kids to a strike. Yet,
families care deeply about the climate crisis--and want to be involved. To
create space for families of all kinds to participate in September 20th’s
Global Climate Strike, Families for a Livable Climate is organizing “Families
Strike for Our Future”, a family-friendly gathering at the County
Courthouse, at 200 W. Broadway, from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m.

RSVP at this link:https://www.facebook.com/events/2224690464308423/

Led in part by middle-school students who are stepping up to lead, the
gathering will feature young speakers sharing their personal climate
stories, as well as local activists and organizations who will share what’s
happening in Montana, focusing on solutions and how families can get
involved and make a difference. There will also be a children’s interactive
art area, and several performances. This event is free and open to the
public.

If you’re planning to strike the entire day in Missoula, here’s the
schedule for the 20th so far--note the schedule at 350.org is not updated
as of yesterday--we hope it will be soon!
