The Great Bear Foundation is seeking volunteers [1] to help pick fruit
in the Missoula area to keep bears out of neighborhood fruit trees, and
out of trouble. Volunteers can keep unwanted fruit or turn it in to
Western Cider at 501 N. California street any day of the week between
noon and 6pm--40lbs of good apples or pears will earn you a cider
coupon. To volunteer, contact Elissa Chott at elissa at greatbear.org or
406-829-9378. Thank you!

Join the Great Bear Foundation on a trip to Churchill [2], Manitoba this
fall to witness the annual fall polar bear migration, and to learn about
polar bear ecology, conservation, climate change, and the natural and
cultural history of western Hudson Bay. Graduate or undergraduate credit
in Environmental Studies is available through the University of Montana
School of Extended Credit & Lifelong Learning at no extra cost, with
additional coursework. Open to all ages and backgrounds. 100% of
proceeds fund bear conservation and education programs. For more
information, visit our website [2] or contact Shannon Donahue in our
Alaska office at shannon at greatbear.org or 907-766-2024.

"In the end, the most difficult aspect of making real gains in grizzly
bear
conservation may be mustering the social and political will to implement
change."
