[MCN] Youth Carpentry Workshop - Register Now!

The YWCA's GRIT Program is teaming up with the Missoula Food Bank & Community Center to offer a FREE 20-hour carpentry workshop! This program is open to girls and gender diverse youth* aged 14-18.

During this program, participants will learn basic rough carpentry skills (e.g., post setting, framing, power tool use) and help build a community garden area adjacent to the Montana Street Homes project, right behind the Missoula Food Bank and Community Center. We'll be building a shade structure and picnic tables, then participants will design and build a seating area. (In need of community service hours? This is a great opportunity!)

The workshop takes place over 4 days at the Missoula Food Bank (1720 Wyoming St.):
- Thurs., Sept. 26 from 2:30p-5:30p
- Sat., Sept. 28 from 10:00a-5:00p
- Thurs., Oct. 10 from 2:30p-5:30p
- Sat., Oct. 12 from 10:00a-5:00p

GRIT can assist with rides to/from the workshop if requested, including pickups at school or home. Food provided.
