On Monday, December 21, from your own home, yard or neighborhood, join Families
for a Livable Climate <https://livableclimate.org/>and Climate Smart
Missoula <https://www.missoulaclimate.org/> for the *“Rekindling Our
Commitment to a Brighter Future” Winter Solstice event.*

2020 has been a difficult year, with the concurrent crises of COVID-19,
racial injustice, economic hardship, and the climate emergency weighing
heavily on us all. On the shortest day of the year, let’s join as a
community - physically apart, but together - to welcome the return of the
light. We can rekindle our commitment to building a brighter future by
sharing our *Climate Resolutions for 2021*

How to Participate

   1.

   - As the sun goes down on Winter Solstice, or any time after dark,
   gather with your family or housemates and grab a candle, lantern, or
   luminary. Consider walking with your household, carrying your light, and
   then gathering on your porch or yard. Share your *Climate Resolutions
   for 2021* <https://livable-climate.squarespace.com/climateresolutions>
   with one another. *What are your hopes for our communities in the year
   ahead, and how do you want to take action and be part of the solutions?*
   2.

   *- Take a photo or video of your light display and your group! *Be
   creative! Send it to us and we’ll compile the images to remind us of the
   light our community needs now more than ever. We may share on our websites,
   or in other online media.
   3.

   - Submit your *Climate Resolutions for 2021*
   <https://livable-climate.squarespace.com/climateresolutions> via our
   website/email by *Wednesday December 23, 2020*. We’ll include as many as
   we can (anonymously) in a special column for the Sustainable Missoula
   series in the *Missoula Current *that will run on January 1st.
