Just four years ago in 2016, the warmest year on record, Americans ranked the environment the 12th-most important issue out of 14 electoral issues. But since 2018 -- the fifth warmest year on record -- the climate movement has grown in leaps and bounds thanks to actions like the global climate strikes and the Green New Deal, a climate policy credited with matching the urgency of the climate crisis.
