Hello,

Join MWA's Shining Mountains Chapter and Bitterroot National Forest
Wilderness Ranger Jack Ader on the evening of Feb. 23 to hear about his
experience working in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness.

Ader has spent four seasons patrolling the West Fork District and will
share some personal reflections on the nature and value of Wilderness, as
well as how he's worked to preserve the wilderness character of the
district.

Ader served in the Marines, spending two years in Iraq, before finding work
with the National Park Service in the Tetons. Since then he's worked in
Idaho and Alaska before being hired as a seasonal wilderness ranger. He
patrols the West Fork District, which includes the Blue Joint Wilderness
Study Area, one of two Bitterroot WSAs that MWA has been working to
protect. Over the past four years he's traveled hundreds of miles on foot
and horseback through some of the most remote country in the Lower 48,
giving him a unique perspective on Wilderness!
