Ready to learn more about what you can do to manage growth and development
in the new west? Please join Future West as we host our next free webinar
in our Managing Growth in the New West series: *BUILDING STRONG TOWNS*
*Featuring:
Chuck Marohn on Wednesday, May 12th, 11:00 am – 12:30 pm MST. *

Many of our communities are experiencing explosive growth. As development
accelerates are you, much like our featured speaker, worried that "the way
we build our cities now squanders precious resources that should be used to
make our towns more prosperous?” Or that “our communities are trading
short-term growth for long-term liabilities that are slowly bankrupting us,
and that we deserve better?” At Future West, we certainly share these
concerns - and that's why we've booked Chuck Marohn, founder and leader of
the Strong Towns movement, for our next webinar.

The Strong Towns approach is a radically new way of thinking about the way
we build our world. They believe, and we agree, that in order to truly
thrive, our cities and towns must:

ü Stop valuing efficiency and start valuing resilience

ü Stop betting our future on huge, irreversible projects, and start taking
small, incremental steps and iterating based on what we learn

ü Stop fearing change and start embracing a process of continuous
adaptation

ü Stop building our world based on abstract theories, and start building
it based on how our places actually work and what our neighbors actually
need today.

Chuck is a radically practical thinker who has changed the way we approach
community-building at Future West. We're delighted that he's agreed to join
us on May 12th. You don't want to miss this one!

Each month we will offer a webinar featuring individuals with in-depth
knowledge of planning, sustainable development,
and growth management issues – leaders in their fields who foster a more
complete understanding of these challenges and related opportunities.
