*DOWNTOWN ARTS & CULTURE IMPACT GRANTS OPEN FOR 2024 PROJECTS*
The Missoula Downtown Foundation is now accepting applications for the
Downtown Arts & Culture Impact Grants, which pair artists with building
owners and spaces for impactful art projects in Downtown Missoula.
The Arts & Culture Impact Grant Program utilizes private resources to
support the beautification, historical preservation, and general livability
of Downtown Missoula. The Missoula Downtown Foundation supports
placemaking projects that celebrate Downtown Missoula as the cultural
center of our community. Individuals, organizations, or private entities
are invited to apply for funding to help beautify Downtown Missoula. Grants
are intended to:
· Make Downtown Missoula better for future generations
· Support the cultural, social, and economic uniqueness that is
Downtown Missoula
· Create long-lasting positive change in Downtown Missoula
· Complete projects within six months
· Complete projects that are inclusive of all individuals
Proposals should comply with the goals of the Downtown Master Plan, the
North Riverside Parks & Trails Plan, and/or the Missoula Heritage
Interpretive Plan. The Foundation has allocated $15,000 for up to three
projects for 2024. The deadline for 2024 applications is Thursday, Feb. 29,
2024.
“The Missoula Downtown Foundation exists to support and promote the spirit
and heritage of Missoula through cultural, historical and economic
enhancement of Downtown Missoula,” said Travis Neil, incoming President of
the Missoula Downtown Foundation Board of Directors and project manager for
Dick Anderson Construction. “The Foundation is dedicated to placemaking and
beautifying Downtown Missoula with more and larger artwork.”
Last year the Arts & Culture Impact Grants funded Tanya Lee’s “Greetings
from Missoula” mural on the Grizzly Hackle Building, as well as the
Missoula Art Museum’s Teen Art project in the alley adjacent to Office
City.
“We had ten great applications last year,” said Neil, “and we’re excited to
partner with artists and building owners for more projects in 2024.
