Hi Missoula area families,

Saki is 17 yrs old and comes from a close family of 5 living including her older sister and 90 yr old grandma. She plays clarinet in the brass band and loves to hang out with her family and friends eating, cooking and visiting. She calls herself a curious and talkative person, who loves math, puzzles, reading, and always learning new things. She’d prefer to be in a family without younger children (5 or under). She is looking forward to cooking Japanese style food for your family and exploring Montana nature. Saki needs to be placed in Missoula.

Chihiro is 18 yrs old and loves to be active. Her primary hobby is ballet; she was the lead dancer in the Nutcracker. She can’t live with cats but likes dogs and kids! Chihiro likes hanging out with her family and friends, visiting, shopping, and being outdoors. She has two younger brothers. She is a committed student who studies at cram school to support her future academic goals.

Sosuke is 15 yrs old and will enter as a sophomore. He loves basketball and hopes to play here in Montana. He is close with his family and has two younger brothers. He likes to watch movies with his family, do activities, play video games and board games, hike in the mountains, and also loves to read. Sosuke can be placed anywhere in Montana as the Appleseed Scholarship student.

Greenheart students come with their own spending money and health insurance; host families are expected to provide 3 meals a day, a bed/room of their own (they can share a bedroom with a host sibling of same-sex), transportation to and from school, and most importantly an open and loving home to treat them as one of their own to share their lives for a home stay. Greenheart Exchange is open and inclusive in its host families.

Please contact me, Sarah Smith, if you are interested... or even curious to hear more information: (406)270-1811. You don't have to be perfect, just open to the experience of cultural exchange and willing to share your home and life experiences with another. These Kumamoto students are selected through a rigorous process and are excited to share their Japanese culture while making connections and memories with a family here in Montana.
