gray wolves have been slaughtered<b id="yui_3_16_0_1_1468376355720_8353" style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal"> </b>in
the northern Rockies since a 2011 Congressional rider<b id="yui_3_16_0_1_1468376355720_8354" style="mso-bidi-font-weight:normal"> </b>stripped wolves prematurely of federal protections, and ceased
recovery efforts afforded under the Endangered Species Act. Thousands of wild
bison have also been senselessly slaughtered in the Greater Yellowstone
Ecosystem over the past decade due to the demands of special interests and
state wildlife officials. Now the US Fish & Wildlife Service has indicated
that Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem Grizzly Bear populations are going to be
wrongfully stripped of federal protections, turned over to state management and
hunted. The time for wildlife management reform in America is now. There is no
sound scientific evidence, nor public support, for killing carnivores and
peaceful animals like buffalo.<span id="yui_3_16_0_1_1468376355720_8355" style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>The
status quo for wildlife management in America is an outdated model that
primarily serves only those that hunt, trap and fish, leaving the vast majority
of Americans and wildlife enthusiasts out of management decisions. <span id="yui_3_16_0_1_1468376355720_8356" style="mso-spacerun:yes"> </span>A 21<sup id="yui_3_16_0_1_1468376355720_8357">st</sup> Century model for wildlife
management will drastically change how wildlife management is funded, how and
by whom decisions are made, while incorporating the best-available science and
democratic decision making into management decisions.</div>
