Each year, we venture to Churchill, Manitoba to view the great white bear, often spotting other local fauna such as arctic fox and caribou. Plus great views of the aurora borealis when it's clear! The Field Course began when GBF co-founder Dr. Charles (“Chuck”) Jonkel began taking interested and eager students who wanted to learn more about polar bears, but it quickly expanded to include participants of all ages from across the globe.
