The regulations are supported by U.S. Senators Tester and Daines. </div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">The regulations are being proposed because of a lawsuit Cottonwood won in district court, the Ninth Circuit, and U.S. Supreme Court that stopped several timber sales in critical habitat for Canada lynx.</div><div class=""><br class=""></div><div class="">The new regulations would eliminate the requirement of the U.S. Forest Service to review its management plans with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service when new science becomes available.
