<p><strong>Missoula, MT- </strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">On April 12th, 2010, EmpowerMT’s youth leaders were instrumental in helping to extend protection against discrimination to LGBTQ+ community members under Missoula’s</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Non-Discrimation Ordinance. Since then, the second Saturday in April has been declared Diversity Day to commemorate that victory, honor the impact of youth engagement, and celebrate Missoula’s enriching diversity.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">To honor this anniversary, this year youth leaders from EmpowerMT are partnering with the Zootown Arts Community Center (ZACC) to elevate youth wellness, connection, and resilience through art and expression at</span><strong> Missoula’s 2022 Diversity Day on Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 2pm-4pm at the ZACC</strong><span style="font-weight: 400;">. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Diversity Day festivities will include celebrating personal identity, youth wellness, connection, and resilience through art and calls to action. We will also honor youth leaders across Montana who inspire change in their communities with the 2022 Youth Lead Now Awards. EmpowerMT youth leaders have created youth wellness kits to give to youth who attend.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Evyn Kolczak-Hardy, EmpowerMT’s Youth Advisory Council member, offers hope for Missoula and Montana’s future. “EmpowerMT really opened my eyes to the possibility of change that I could have, the chance that I could have an impact on somebody’s future in a positive way gives me hope, and I’m excited to see the changes in my local community and more young people getting involved.” </span></p>
