Hey Missoula,

This summer I'll be co-leading a four day dreamwork and
poetry/creative expression retreat on private land in the Tobacco Roots.
The work is based on wilderness-based rites of passage as taught by The
School of Lost Borders and The Animas Valley Institute, as well as many
combined years of teaching writing. The central exploration is "wild
mirrors," or, how does deep listening on the land offer reflections and
point toward aspects of ourselves that are waiting for expression and
embodiment. Dreams, dancing, and poetry enhance the exploration,
offering other mirrors that we can use to see ourselves more clearly,
feel more deeply alive, and recognize what's ready to be let go of.

The land is a beautiful 40 acres in North Meadow Creek with a gate
opening out to national forest and lots of space for slowing down and
connecting to the earth. We'll have talking circles and shared meals and
nonjudgmental, encouraging space to explore the edges that are ready to
be stepped across. All in all, it will be a nourishing, connective, and
transformative time.
