We are pleased to report that Yellowstone National Park has *extended the
public comment period* on their proposed bison management plan until *October
10*.  If you didn't have a chance to send in comments by the previous
September 25 deadline, you still have time!  Many thanks to everyone who

The showing of Yellowstone Voices' documentary -- in which Roam Free Nation
is included -- A Path Forward for the Yellowstone Bison,

at the Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman, MT.

Roam Free Nation will be attending the Interagency Bison Management Plan
meeting <http://ibmp.info/meetings.php> on October 31 (yes, Halloween!).
This is when Yellowstone will disclose their summer bison population
estimate, and we will learn the toll last year's difficult winter took on
our gentle giant friends. It is also when they will make their plans for
what befalls the last wild buffalo this coming field season.

Roam Free Nation cofounders, Stephany Seay and Jaedin Medicine Elk,
recently did a very encouraging interview with Native News Online, who we
are hoping will be able to join us in the field this season.  And we just
had a great in-person interview with University of Georgia Professor Carrie
P. Freeman, PhD, who is writing a book about coexistence with wildlife.
Both were really refreshing conversations to have and we look forward to
sharing more with you soon!

We will also have another interview to share with you, as Stephany was once
again invited on For a Green Future, to talk about Yellowstone's new bison
management plan.  It will be a two-part piece, one segment before
Yellowstone's extended comment deadline, and an update after the extension
was announced.

While fall has just arrived, winter is fast approaching, and with that the
