Sussex School, a K-8th grade progressive, independent school in Missoula,
has been included among the 50 Best Private Elementary Schools in the U.S. by
a recent article

factors, including academic excellence, extracurricular richness,

Sussex School was founded in 1971 by Bente Winston.  Winston still serves
on the board and helps coach Mathcounts at the school.  The school has over
