THE MCC MISSION
Montana Conservation Corps inspires young people through hands-on
conservation service to be leaders, stewards of the land, and engaged
citizens who improve their communities.

WHAT IS MCC EXPEDITION?
A free summer program that engages students, ages 15-17 (high school
program) and 12-14 (middle school program), in hands on conservation work
and outdoor learning opportunities. Its a fun way to spend time outdoors,
earn some money ($100 - $200 Service Award), and build an impressive resume
for college or a career in Resource Management through volunteer experience
with public land agencies.
· Each Expedition starts with a one-day orientation covering safety,
camp setup, and Leave No Trace principles.
· Variety of lengths to fit your needs, 2-week, 3-week and 4-week
models to choose from.
· MIDDLE SCHOOL Program! July 5th-July 9th
· High School Program Dates
o 2-week, June 13th June 24th or June 27th July 9th (weekends off)
o 3-week, June 12th July 1st (first weekend off, end with a 12 day
backcountry trails project)
o 4-week,
§ June 12th July 9th (first two weekends off, end with a 12 day trails
project)
§ July 17th August 12th (first two weekends off, end with a 12 day trails
project)
· A crew consists of six members and two leaders.
· Project types: trail constructing, trail maintenance, fencing,
habitat restoration, re-vegetation.
· Device-free environment (no iPods, cell phones, etc.), they dont
work in the places we go.
· Spend a lot of time outdoors working, learning, and recreating.
You can expect to be outside.
· Environmental education is a large component of the experience.
However, its not like homework but rather a way to keep youth engaged and
thinking about the world around you.
· 80 to 160 hours of Community Service to boost your resume!
· Presidential Service Award and Service Award ($100 - $200) upon
completion.
