[MCN] Explore the Great Burn this summer!

Dear Missoula Community,

The Great Burn Study Group is looking for volunteers to fill their
stewardship trips into one of Missoula's backyard gems, the proposed Great
Burn Wilderness. The 2-3 day trips explore this beautiful area through
hands-on projects including some light trail maintenance and invasive plant

Here is the schedule of trips:

July 7-10
Explore the heart of the proposed Great Burn Wilderness via the North Fork
of Fish Creek and French Lake. Difficulty: Strenuous. Total mileage: 22.

July 29-31
Explore the Great Burn’s largest Idaho drainage: Kelly Creek, a blue ribbon
trout fishing stream. Difficulty: Moderate. Total mileage: 20.

August 5-7
Soak up lakes, meadows, and old cedar groves on a trip to Goose Lake.
Difficulty: Moderate/Strenuous. Total mileage: 12.

August 12-14
Hike into the depths of the Great Burn via Cache Creek.
Difficulty: Moderate. Total mileage: 14.

August 19-21
Spend the weekend following Straight Creek to a beautiful waterfall.
Difficulty: Moderate. Total mileage: 10.

August 26-28
Enjoy a stunning view of both Idaho and Montana from the Stateline
trail above Heart Lake. Difficulty: Moderate. Total Mileage: 20
