Montana Conservation Corps  seeks one qualified applicant for the position
of Wildlands Restoration Staff Crew Leader (Wilderness) located in
Missoula, Montana. This is a seasonal position. The WRT Staff Crew Leader
is responsible for the supervision and management of the Wildlands
Restoration Team. This is a seasonal position leading a Wilderness Crew.
The season’s work will consist of the utilization of GPS/GIS data
collection and management for invasive species inventory, wilderness
quality and campsite monitoring (Limits of Acceptable Change), the use of
chemical and mechanical spot treatments of invasive plant species in remote
settings, and the use of hand tools, including crosscut saws, to maintain
trail access in the Scapegoat Wilderness Area.

The WRT is a perfect fit for the qualified candidate seeking experience and
professional development in the disciplines of natural resource and
integrated invasive species management, wilderness, and recreation.
Primary responsibilities include assuring the successful completion of MCC
natural resource and community service projects, on-site management of a
crew, maintenance of crew dynamics to ensure a high level of crew function
and the delivery of the appropriate MCC program components. They are the
primary field liaison between regional staff and the project sponsor or
technical advisor. Experience in backcountry travel is highly preferred.
