Value-Added Products to Diversify Farm Marketing
*Lower Crossing Farm, St. Ignatius*
*Wed, May 17, 4-7 pm, Potluck to Follow*

Farmer Jesse Hadden will show how he has designed his farm infrastructure
and production for value-added marketing. Lower Crossing Farm (LXF) raises
beef, pork, poultry and vegetables to supply an on-farm butcher shop and
food truck as well as producing pickles, hot sauce and soap. Jesse will
talk about whole animal butchery, the regulatory process, and marketing
strategies. We'll get a sneak peak at the butcher shop and food truck that
both open this season!

*Bring a potluck dish to share and you must bring a change of footwear to
tour the butcher shop.*

Our field days are geared toward people who are just at the beginning of
their farm exploration- farm hands, interns, folks thinking about starting
a farm in the near future, and those who are currently in the startup
process. Of course, established farmers and ranchers are welcome too! We
ask that you RSVP ahead of time so that we can have a good estimate of
numbers in advance.
