42nd Annual 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION & PANCAKE BREAKFAST

AT THE HISTORICAL MUSEUM AT FORT MISSOULA
Wednesday, July 4 - 10am - 4pm
The pancake breakfast, put on by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (for the benefit of the Friends), kicks off the celebration from 8:00 until 11:00.
Festivities begin at 10am and include: musical entertainment by Kevin Van Dort, Bases Covered, and Smith and McKay All Day.

Additional offerings include:


·         Model trains & ham radios

·         Old-fashioned children's games

·         Food trucks

·         Scavenger hunt (for adults, too)

·         Living history tours of the lookout, schoolhouse, Drummond Depot, Trolley Barn, & locomotive

·         Historic steam-engine sawmill demos

·         Antique engine displays

·         Missoula Fire Trucks

·         Smokey the Bear!

·         Historical surveying and MT genealogy

·         Craft vendors

·         Horse-drawn wagon rides

·         Special goings all day at the Homestead Cabin with games, hands-on activities, and demonstrators

·         Miniature ponies and farm animals

·         Dunk Tank!

·         Cold beer provided by Bayern Brewing

·         Model Railroad Displays




A Welcome Ceremony, at 12:00pm, will celebrate America's Independence Day with singing of the National Anthem and a presentation of the flag by VFW Post 209 and American Legion Hellgate Post 27 Honor Guards.

Swing into the main museum building for the Grand Opening of the North Gallery exhibit: Necessity and Beauty; Quilts from the HMFM Permanent Collection.

Admission is $5/adults, $3/seniors, $2/students, and $15/family Children 6/under and HMFM members are free.  The Pancake Breakfast: $5/adult or $20/family (includes admission for the day).

Premiere sponsors are Synema Studios, Cherry Creek Radio (The Hawk 96.9), A & E Architects, Northern Rockies Heritage Center, Hospice Care Foundation, Pepsi-Cola, OZ Architects, and Missoula Broadcast Company (U104.5 and Trail 103.3).

Additional sponsors are: Rocky Mountain Museum of Military History, Parkside Credit Union, Good Food Store, Shield Pest Defense, Murdoch's Home and Ranch Supply, US Bank, Mountain Press Publishing, The Green Light, and Bayern Brewing.
