Irrigation Systems on a Diversified Farm
FOOTHILL FARM  ||  ST. IGNATIUS, MT

WEDNESDAY, JULY 18  || 4-6 PM  || POTLUCK TO FOLLOW




*At our July Field Day, farmer Julie Pavlock will talk about the different
irrigation approaches utilized throughout the diverse systems at Foothill
Farm and how she worked with local NRCS agents to design for both
water-efficiency and quality production. NRCS agent Austin Allen, who
helped design Foothill Farm's irrigation systems, will provide technical
details about the design. Foothill Farm is a certified organic,
multi-generational family farm in the Mission Valley focusing on fresh
vegetables for wholesale, seed garlic, and grass-fed beef. There are 70
acres, which include hay fields, pasture, 3 hoop houses, a propagation
greenhouse, and 6 acres of vegetables. The farm also hosts chickens, milk
cows, work horses, and honey bees. *


Our field days are geared toward people who are just at the beginning of
their farm exploration—farm hands, interns, folks thinking about starting a
farm in the near future, and those who are currently in the startup
process. Of course, established farmers and ranchers are welcome too!
