Dear MCL subscribers,

You’re invited to Ecology Project International (EPI)’s annual First Friday
Celebration <https://www.facebook.com/events/211074109486275/>! This free,
family-friendly, community event features art, live music, kids’
activities, and free beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.

This year’s featured artist is local photographer Claire Haughey. In making
her “Celebrating Missoula Women in Science” collection, Claire shadowed six
incredible female scientists to capture their everyday professional lives.
These women – some of whom you might even know – and their research are an
asset to the community and an inspiration to girls who perhaps have never
known a woman scientist. Claire’s collection is part of EPI’s STEM4Good
campaign
<https://www.ecologyproject.org/about/blog/how-engaging-more-girls-in-science-will-help-save-our-planet>,
which aims to engage more girls in hands-on science.

In addition to science art, we’ve partnered with the Montana Natural
History Center and Insectarium to provide kid-friendly interactive
stations. We’ll have live music with Rotgut Whines and River City Players
and food from local food trucks, Bitterroot Bison, Arabian Cuisines, and
Glitter Pop Shop.

*June 1, 5-8 PM *
*at the Historic Swift Center*
*315 S. 4th Street E., Missoula, MT*

*Let us know you can come and invite your friends on Facebook
<https://www.facebook.com/events/211074109486275/>! *

Our First Friday Celebration is totally free; however, all donations given
during the event will support EPI's STEM4Good campaign
<https://www.ecologyproject.org/stem4good> and will give more girls the
opportunity to participate in real-world science research projects, develop
critical thinking skills, and gain confidence in their own potential. Learn
more about the campaign on our blog.

Can't make it to First Friday but still want to support the campaign? You
can donate online <https://www.ecologyproject.org/stem4good> now through
midnight on June 1. *All donations now through the end of the campaign will
be matched by thanks to a generous donor!*
