Reducing On-Farm Carbon Footprint
Lifeline Produce, Victor
Wednesday, September 18th, 4-6pm, potluck to follow
Please register by September 15th<https://www.missoulacfac.org/programs/farmer-support/farmer-field-days-2019/>.
Lifeline Produce<https://lifelineproduce.com/> is located in the Bitterroot Valley, where Luci Brieger and Steve Elliot grow a wide variety of crops and livestock. They work hard to produce fresh, delicious food for their community and actively look for ways to train beginning farmers through their apprentice program. During this field day, Steve and Luci will talk about how they are minimizing their farm's carbon footprint through the use of solar panels, compost systems, cover cropping, and more!
More than just a farm tour, Farmer Field Days cover techniques and tips that will help beginning farmers learn new approaches that they can implement on their own farms. While geared toward beginning farmers, all Farmer Field Days are open to the public. Afterward, stick around for a potluck social and meet more of your local farming community.
