Hello there,

The Wilderness Institute presents another installment in the 2019 Wilderness Lecture Series this Tuesday, March 5th at 7pm in the Gallagher Business Building, Room 123, U Montana Campus. Please see the event description below. Thanks!

Begin description:

Reading the Room for Impact: Different Methods to Effectively Engage Supporters in Environmental Advocacy

The first rule of storytelling is 'know your audience.' The second, at least for Kascie Herron, is 'make them laugh.' Herron is the outreach and communications coordinator for American Rivers, a water conservation nonprofit focused on protecting and restoring rivers. Drawing on examples from American Rivers' multimedia projects, she will discuss the strategy and psychology behind different communication styles, about the journey to transform audiences into advocates, and about using comedy to inspire hope for conservation.

Join us for this free public lecture and discussion on Tuesday, March 5 at 7 p.m. in Gallagher Business Building 123 on the University of Montana campus.

Herron's talk is the final installment in the Wild Hope: Fearless Risk Takers, Art Markers and Storytellers on Wilderness and Conservation Front Lines lecture series, presented by the Wilderness Institute.
