[MCN] Sussex School Seeking Rock Climbing Instructors

Sussex School’s Adventure Program is seeking to hire 2 experienced
rock-climbing instructors for 5 days of programming with 8th grade
students. This includes a 2-day, 1-night overnight portion. Details of
necessary skills, program dates, and location can be found below.

Avalanche Gulch-Townsend, MT

**You will only be expected to be present with students during the climbing
portion

on these dates. You are welcome to join for dinner/evening activities, but
you are    also free to step away from the group.



Required skills and responsibilities:

   -

   -Ability to safely and comfortably lead climb sport routes up to 5.9


   -

   -Ability to build safe and redundant top rope anchors
   -

   -Comfortable rappelling and cleaning routes
   -

   -Help the Adventure Coordinator inventory climbing gear at the end of
   the day
   -

   -Teaching and demonstrating pre-climb safety checks to students
   -

   -Experience teaching students basic climbing equipment use, tying double
   figure-8 knots, and if necessary, proper top-rope belay techniques


   -

   -Patience and empathy with students who struggle with the mental and/or
   physical components of climbing
   -

   -Willingness to share climbing techniques and tips with students
   -

   -Being stoked about teaching students how to climb!



Anticipated Hours, Pay, and Transportation:

-Contracted Work Hours: 40 hours-This includes driving time.

-Likely work hours- September 14th-16th-8:00am-4:00pm, September 17th-18th
-9:00am-5:00pm

-Rate of Pay-$15/hr-Anticipated weekly pay-$600

-Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, you will need to provide your own
transportation to and from each climbing area, including the overnight
portion.  You will be provided a $40 gas stipend for travel during the
week.
