Writers of all levels welcome. In this class, we’ll explore the building
blocks of fiction and nonfiction stories: character, point of view,
setting, and plot through freewrites and brief readings.

**receive feedback on a piece of writing from instructor & peers*

**learn about revision & publication strategy *



Want to focus on finishing a story you've been tinkering with? Have a piece
of writing you'd like fresh eyes on? This class will help you deepen your
writing practice by adding more tools to your toolbox, while sharing work
with a supportive crew of writers.

 **



*For both classes:* Everyone submits one story of 2,000 to 5,000 words. The
only time commitment outside of class is reading and commenting on peers’
work.


*About the Instructor:*

Maria Anderson's work has recently appeared in or is forthcoming in* Sewanee
Review, McSweeney’s,* *Alpinist*, and *Best American Short Stories*. She
has an MFA in Fiction from the University of Wyoming and a BA in Literary
Arts from Brown University.
