*Yellowstone Summer Program Positions:*
Ecology Project International's Yellowstone Program
<https://legacy.ecologyproject.org/programs/local-communities-campuses/yellowstone>
is
looking for passionate environmental educators and outdoor leaders to join
our field instructor teams! We are currently hiring for the 2021
Yellowstone program season, which will run from May through August 2021.
Both positions are based in Missoula, MT.

***Field Instructor: *Field instructors in the Ecology Project
International (EPI) Yellowstone Program teach five- to nine-day field
ecology courses for middle and high school students in the Greater
Yellowstone Ecosystem. Our programs introduce students to real-world
scientific study, engage them in conservation service projects, and raise
their cultural and ecological awareness. Field instructors support student
learning by teaching relevant ecology and scientific process lessons,
guiding students in accurately collecting data for research projects, and
leading students in conservation service projects. Additionally,
instructors mentor students in developing camping skills and
social-emotional competencies, co-creating an inclusive learning
environment that supports student success and growth, while living and
working in the field for days at a time! Instructors are paid a daily rate
of $96-116, DOE.**

***Field Intern: *Field interns, as a member of a three-person field team,
guide students in the preparation of all meals in the field, maintain EPI
field equipment, transport students, lead students in leadership
activities/games, and support field instructors in conducting all courses.
As the internship progresses, interns will be called upon to provide
relevant ecology and science lessons to students. Upon demonstration of
sufficient growth throughout the summer season, interns will be given the
opportunity to interview for a winter instructor position (Jan - April
2022). Interns are paid $175/week, and receive free shared housing in
Missoula, Montana.**

*Bitterroot Wildlife Internship Field Instructor:*

Ecology Project International (EPI) <http://www.epiyellowstone.org/>is
hiring two field instructors to mentor and deliver academic content for 12
Bitterroot Wildlife Internship program high school interns this summer.

The Bitterroot Wildlife Internship (BWI) program is a partnership between
Ecology Project International (EPI) and MPG Ranch that offers a unique
experience for high school students that combines ecological education,
conservation service, and hands-on field research at MPG Ranch in Florence,
Montana from June-August. Each month-long session will consist of six
interns. Interns will be paired with MPG staff or affiliates to assist with
ongoing research, service, or outreach projects and complete their own
related research project. EPI has offered the Bitterroot Wildlife
Internship program in conjunction with MPG Ranch since 2014. Field
instructors will mentor, supervise, and manage the intern experience.

Bitterroot Wildlife Internship instructors will spend Sunday
afternoon-Thursday of each week at the ranch leading interns to complete
conservation service projects (approximately 10hrs/week), conduct
ecological research (approximately 16hrs/week), and learn about the
Bitterroot Valley’s ecosystem (approximately 6 hrs/week). Instructors and
interns will camp in a designated campsite on the ranch Sunday-Thursday.
Conservation projects on the ranch might include pulling invasive weeds,
removing fencing, and gathering native seeds. Potential research
involvement includes avian, soil, plant, ungulate, and insect projects.
Instructors will also teach Leave No Trace awareness, guide wildlife
observation, and mentor the interns in nature journaling.

Instructors will work approximately 53 days from May through August and
will be paid an average of $600/week for 11 weeks, including both field
work and planning/logistics work in the office. This position is based in
Missoula, Montana.
