[MCN] Garden City Harvest seeks Youth Farm Apprentice

We're looking for someone interested in learning agriculture through
working on an urban farm. This particular farm, the Youth Farm, partners
with Youth Homes to employ teens in foster care. This hands-on employment
program works directly with our local
group homes' staff to provide a safe and challenging environment that
teaches
and develops social skills, encourages positive behavior, and advocates for
personal responsibility. As a productive 2+ acre farm, the Youth Farm crew
grows tons of produce each year, operates Mobile Market farm stands serving
lower income Missoulians, a Community Supported Agriculture program (CSA),
and
donates thousands of pounds of food to family service agencies each year.

This apprenticeship provides the opportunity to learn sustainable farming
practices and components of working with teenagers living in foster care.
The
Youth Farm Apprentice will work closely with the Youth Farm’s Director,
Field
Manager, and Farm Assistant, teen employees and volunteers.

Wage & Benefits: 11/hour, equivalent of half-share of produce in season, 3
paid holidays per year
Season/hours: Part time seasonal, May-October for a total of 500 hours.
