1st 2 paragraphs

President Obama announced EPA's new Clean Power
Plan at the White House yesterday, citing the
need to reduce carbon pollution from power plants
as an historic step in taking real action on
climate change.

Natural gas, renewables, nuclear and efficiency
are the winners. Coal is the loser.

"Climate change is not a new topic in biologyŠ
Observations of range shifts in parallel with
climate change Š date back to the mid-1700s."

"A surprising result is the high proportion of
species responding to recent, relatively mild
climate change (global average warming of 0.6C).
The proportion of wild species impacted by
climate change was estimated at 41% of all
species (655 of 1598)."
