*JOB TITLE: *Healthy Montana Canvass Director
*HOURS: *40 hours/ week
*SALARY: *$2,500 to $3,000/month (depending on experience)
*ORGANIZATION DESCRIPTION: *
The Montana Human Rights Network is a statewide, multi-issue organization
that serves on the Healthy Montana Ballot committee and the field
subcommittee for the Healthy Montana campaign.
*CAMPAIGN DESCRIPTION: *This position will oversee execution of Healthy
Montana field campaign which aims to pass I-185 this November. More

*POSITION REPORTS TO: *Campaign Manager and Field Subcommittee Chair
*LOCATION: *
Helena, but location is negotiable.
*JOB DUTIES: *
● Management and oversight of Healthy Montana’s canvass in Lewis & Clark,
Gallatin, Missoula, and Silverbow counties
○ Train and supervise canvassers on direct voter contact and voter
persuasion
○ Prepare door knocking lists, cut turf, track goals, and manage all
logistics
○ Work in the field daily, knocking doors, alongside volunteers and
canvassers
○ Drive canvassers to and from canvass locations daily
○ Track and maintain metrics about all aspects of programmatic work
○ Prepare canvassers each day before entering the field: ensure everyone
has shirts, correct materials, correct talking points, and is presentable
as the face of the Healthy Montana campaign.
○ Manage supplies and communicate needs to campaign managment
● Meeting with the campaign management and other staff members on a regular
basis
● Maintain and cultivate a positive working environment to support and
excite new and continuing volunteers and canvassers
● Be an ambassador for the Healthy Montana campaign publicly
● Other duties as assigned

● Applicants must believe in the importance of the Healthy Montana campaign
and show a clear passion to empower leaders to accomplish important goals
● Applicants must be hard-working, on time, and dependable
● Applicants must be able to energize tired volunteers with their own high
level of excitement
● Applicants should have the flexibility to adapt to changing events and
campaign needs
● Applicants must have strong communication skills and be able to work with
a diverse group of people
● Applicants must be well organized, detail-oriented, and able to keep a
schedule
● Applicants must be individually driven to accomplish goals without
substantial prompting
● Having past experience in organizing is a benefit
● Applicants must share a passion for the work and the causes Healthy
Montana works to advance
● Applicants must possess a passion for keeping health care affordable
● Familiarity with the VAN
● Familiarity with use of cellular phones, email, laptop computers, and
other current technologies
*WORK SCHEDULE: *
● Average work week is 40 hours, Sunday through Thursday from
12:00pm-8:00pm
