The Montana Bankers Association <<www.montanabankers.com/>>and the Montana Association of Realtors <<https://www.montanarealtors.org/>>got a one-sentence email from me in the past couple weeks.
I simply asked each group what it was doing to assess its own exposure to climate risk.
Neither has replied so far.
The topic keeps coming up.
Banks Told They're Lagging on Response to Climate Change Risks <https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-02-15/banks-told-they-re-lagging-on-response-to-climate-change-risks>
“The impacts of temperature may also be more indirect, but still related to physiological tolerances. For example, in spiny lizards (Sceloporus), local extinctions seem to occur because higher temperatures restrict surface activity during the spring breeding season to a daily time window that is overly short .
Similarly, increased air temperatures may both decrease activity time and increase energy maintenance costs, leading organisms to die from starvation rather than from overheating .”
