Developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of Massachusetts Medical
Center, MBSR is based on a form of meditation known as mindfulness.
Mindfulness is a way for you to experientially learn to take better care of
yourself by exploring and understanding the interplay of mind and body and
mobilizing your own inner resources for coping and growing.

This series is intended to prepare students new to this T'ai Chi form to
enter the ongoing class.  The focus will be on learning and understanding
the basic philosophy of T'ai Chi, as well as give the new student an
opportunity to master the very important "front end" of the form.  These
movements are crucial to an optimal practice of the form and will allow
students to enter the ongoing class with confidence.

you have some experience with sitting meditation and want to discuss,
practice, and connect deeper, then Meditation 2.0 is the class for you.

 

The goal of this course is to support your ongoing practice. Participants
will be encouraged to understand their own intentions and commitments as
well as their frustrations and struggles. Along with practice time, there
will be opportunities for group discussion and individual questions.

 

Some prior meditation experience is necessary.

This is a continuing education course for any health care or mental health
providers who wish to explore the use of writing in their provision of care.
We will explore, in an experiential manner, the healing benefits of
expressive writing in disclosure, chronic health issues, obsessions,
traumatic experiences, anxiety, depression, and written communication with
absent or present others. Bring a friend and join us during the quiet time
of winter as we explore writing and healing.
